Data Deletion Request
Delete Your Account In-App
Account deletion from within the App is immediate and irreversible. Your data is purged within 30 days of your request.
- Open Vael on your device.
- Tap the Vault tab (bottom navigation).
- Tap the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account".
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
What Gets Deleted

Deleting a Single Thought
You can delete any thought you posted from your in-app vault, without deleting your account. When you delete a single thought, an automated server-side cleanup also removes everything attached to it:
- All Echoes and Hugs on that thought
- All poll votes on that thought (if it was a poll)
- All mosaic reactions on that thought (if it was a mosaic post)
- All save (“Echoed”) records that pointed at that thought
Other users who had saved or reacted to the thought will no longer see it; their own accounts are otherwise unaffected.
Per-Feature Self-Service
You do not need to delete your whole account to remove individual engagement data. Each engagement primitive can be withdrawn from inside the App at any time:
- Echo / Hug: tap the same button again to withdraw it (the per-user record is deleted).
- Poll vote: tap your already-selected option again to withdraw your vote, or tap the other option to change it.
- Mosaic reaction: tap your already-selected reaction again to withdraw it, or tap a different one to change it.
- Saved thought (“Echoed”): open your profile → “Echoed” tab → tap the bookmark on the saved card and confirm “Remove from Echoed”.
- Blocked users: manage your block list under Settings → Privacy → Blocked Users.
Submit a Deletion Request
Use this form only if you cannot access the in-app deletion flow. We will respond within 30 days. All fields are optional but help us locate your account.
After Submitting
We will email you at the address provided (if any) within 30 days to confirm deletion. If you provided no contact email and no UID, we will still process the request using any identifying details provided. All deletion requests are logged in our compliance system.
