Appeals Policy

Last updated: May 14, 2026

Contents

If you believe a moderation action taken against your account or content was made in error, you have the right to appeal. This page explains which decisions can be appealed, how to submit an appeal, and what to expect.

1. Decisions You Can Appeal

The following moderation outcomes are eligible for appeal:

  • Content removal — a thought or message removed by a moderator
  • Warning — an in-app acknowledgement required before continuing
  • Temporary suspension — account access restricted for a defined period
  • Permanent ban — account permanently terminated

2. Decisions That Are Not Appealable

The following actions are final and cannot be appealed due to their severity:

  • Device blacklisting applied following a confirmed violation involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Device blacklisting applied following a confirmed violation involving terrorism or credible threats of violence
  • Device blacklisting applied following a confirmed doxxing incident involving real-world harm

These restrictions exist to protect the safety of all users and will not be reconsidered through the appeals process.

3. How to Submit an Appeal

To submit an appeal, email [email protected] with:

  • Subject line: "Moderation Appeal"
  • Your Anonymous UID (found in Vault → Settings → Account Info)
  • A brief description of the moderation action you are appealing
  • Your reason for believing the decision was made in error
  • Any supporting context you consider relevant

You do not need to provide your real name or any personally identifying information to submit an appeal.

4. What Happens After You Submit

Appeals are reviewed by a human moderator who was not involved in the original decision. We aim to respond within 5–7 business days. You will receive a reply to the email address you used to contact us, or — where possible — via in-app notification.

During the appeal review period, the original moderation action remains in effect.

5. Possible Outcomes

  • Appeal upheld — the original decision is reversed. Removed content is restored; suspensions or bans are lifted.
  • Appeal partially upheld — the action is reduced (for example, a permanent ban is reduced to a temporary suspension).
  • Appeal dismissed — the original decision is confirmed. The action remains in effect.

The outcome of an appeal is final. There is no further internal review after an appeal decision has been issued.

6. External Recourse

Foundry26's internal appeals process does not affect your statutory rights.

  • UK users: If you believe Foundry26 has acted in breach of contract or otherwise unlawfully, you may bring a claim under UK law before the courts of England and Wales. You may also refer data-related concerns to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
  • EU / EEA users: You retain all rights under your country's mandatory consumer protection laws. You may also lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.
  • All users: Nothing in this Appeals Policy limits your rights under applicable consumer protection or data protection law.
